This vacancy is for a GS-0080-12, Security Specialist located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, Mission Assurance Division -CG-DCMS-341 in Washington, District of Columbia.
To qualify for the GS-12 level, you must possess one year of experience, equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in Federal service. Experience should demonstrate the ability to provide OPSEC training to personnel, to independently review, analyze, and resolve complex OPSEC issues, to develop guidance for OPSEC policies, procedures techniques and equipment for OPSEC controls, update OPSEC directives, regulations, manuals, guidelines or procedures. You will serve as a Security Specialist and be responsible for providing support to the Program Manager in the administration and oversight of the Coast Guard-wide Operations Security (OPSEC) Program. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Providing advice and assistance on developing policies and procedures for the organization's OPSEC activities. Reviewing and develop new and/or existing OPSEC policies, procedures and guidelines for agency-wide use. Developing new training material to provide OPSEC training as directed to ensure the workforce is well educated as directed by Program Manager. Develop and provide briefings, training, presentations and reports to communicate information and recommendations to a variety of audiences.
