This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration in Imbalance Market Coordination (TORI) organization in Real Time Operations (TOR), System Operations (TO), Transmission Services (T). A successful candidate in the Public Utilities Specialist (EIM Entity Scheduling Coordinator) position is responsible for the real-time efficient and reliable participation of the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) in the Western Energy Imbalance Market under normal and abnormal system conditions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level [enter grade] in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: 1) providing guidance pertaining to scheduling matters to ensure system reliability and/or 2) functioning as the technical resource contact for scheduling or operational processes and procedures and/or 3) reviewing planned transmission and/or generation outages for current and next day timeframes to ensure accurate data is available. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. As a Public Utilities Specialist (EIM Entity Scheduling Coordinator), you will: Provide support for improvements and changes in complex energy scheduling policies, processes and systems. Receive market instructions and correct errors to ensure accurate market awards. Provide input to process and procedure developments to ensure all Balancing Authority market operations are documented and standardized. Provide training to others on operating or scheduling processes and procedures. Monitor data telemetry that provides input to operating or scheduling systems.
