Physician Assistant Basic Requirements Master's degree in any discipline or a bachelor's degree in any discipline with one year of experience as a Physician Assistant ~AND~ Successfully passed the PA National Certifying Exam (PANCE) (or are you in the process to taking the exam) ~AND~ Currently hold, or will hold, a full and unrestricted license to practice in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or in the District of Columbia.
The PA is responsible for planning, administering, and directing pain care to adult and geriatric patients in the pain clinic. The PA must be poised and articulate in communicating with people of varied educational levels and varied ethnic backgrounds. The incumbent is responsible to ensure that the highest possible quality of care is achieved and that a safe therapeutic environment is provided. The PA follows directives according to the standards of VHA. Administers medication per established policies and guidelines. Participates in the Interdisciplinary Pain Team meetings, Pain over-sight Committee, OSI, Storm, etc. Administrative Because of the highly integrative approach used in community-based outpatient clinics. The employee must work closely with his/her colleagues and must serve as a leader in developing processes to improve care and satisfaction. Research Enrolls patients in active Ambulatory Care research protocols and completes follow-up visits with required studies. VA offers a comprehensive total rewards package.
