Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Minimum Qualification requirements as noted below. To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the required specialized experience for the respective grade level(s) in which you are applying: To qualify at the GS-07 level, you must possess: Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in the Federal service performing(obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the duties listed below: Developing a plan for a document review database to support the needs of the litigation team; Processing electronically stored litigation files to ensure accurate and current records; Assisting in litigation support projects, and/or litigation technology software applications; Providing customer support services to litigation team in electronic discovery for case preparation and presentation. OR one full year of graduate level education. OR completion of a bachelor's degree AND also meet the requirements under the superior academic achievement provision. OR a combination of the required experience and education for this grade level. To be eligible at the GS-09 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions, as defined below: Specialized Experience: At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service performing(obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the duties listed below: Performing routine litigation support assignments preparing and managing electronic discovery, evidence, exhibits, and other electronically stored information (ESI) relevant to investigations and casework; Utilizing a variety of software applications in order to create physical and digital trial presentations; assisting attorneys with trial preparation, including making recommendations on how to proceed with trial presentations; Working with attorneys, agents, and legal support staff to determine the most effective strategy to meet litigation needs; Providing advice, customer support, or project management services in relation to electronic discovery, litigation support projects, and litigation technology software applications; and providing technical assistance to litigation teams. This experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service and could have been gained in the federal, public, or private sector.at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in federal service. OR one of the following degrees in a related field (e.g. Law, Criminal Justice, Information Technology): OR a Master's or equivalent graduate degree; OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LL.B or J.D. If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that participates in investigating and litigating civil and criminal cases by providing litigation support services to Assistant United States Attorney at the U.S. Attorney's Office, Southern District of Florida. At the full performance level, typical work assignments will include: Performing routine litigation support tasks necessary to process common electronically stored information; Providing technical and analytical assistance to support the litigation needs of the trial team; Performing a variety of routine and complex litigation support task necessary to process common electronically stored information; Assisting attorneys and legal staff in organizing voluminous case information for efficient retrieval; Maintaining records of returns, production received pursuant to subpoenas, warrants, and other investigative tools; Ensuring proper security is maintained over case and litigation support project materials, in accordance with office policies and procedures; Providing customer support services to litigation team members relating to their use of litigation technology applications; Maintaining inventory and tracks litigation support equipment (e.g., external optical media readers and duplicators; specialized scanners; large format printers; etc.); Managing and processing complex electronically stored information (ESI) using appropriate tools; Applying knowledge of court programs, automation requirements, and resolving problems; Creating electronic versions of exhibits for court filings, depositions, hearings, or trials; Operating software or equipment to present exhibits during civil or criminal legal proceedings; Participating in trial preparation and presentations, including discovery and exhibit preparation.
