This vacancy is for a GS - 0080 - 12, Physical Security Specialist, GS-0080-12 located in the Department of Homeland Security, Base Astoria, Warrenton, Oregon
Basic Requirements: To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, applicants must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. You will serve as a Physical Security Specialist, GS-0080-12 and be responsible for security policy and implementation for all Base components and other units or sites. This includes managing and executing personnel security clearances; physical security plans, including Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection (AT/AP) and Active Shooter/Active Threat (AS/AT) scenarios.. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Providing direction to security contractors and watch standers to ensure an effective, secure operation that is responsive to government and contractor security needs. Managing and maintaining the CCTV Camera Systems at all Base locations. Determining the need for, investigating, and analyzing security systems. Managing the Personnel Security program, and processing security clearances insuring they are completed in accordance with Coast Guard policies and directives. This job has occasional physical exertion such as getting in and out of vehicles, standing for long periods, climbing stairs and ladders, bending and stooping, moving moderately heavy objects (e.g. 50 lbs.). May be required to serve as a Contracting Officer Representative (COR) or Alternate COR (ACOR), to include requirements to maintain appropriate certification.
