Job Description:
You will serve as a ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southeast of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector 1) responding to a full range of environmental problems using environmental concepts, principles, and practices; 2) applying federal, state and DOD environmental protection laws, regulations, rules and policies to resolve problems, develop plans, and provide recommendations; 3) managing programs involving industrial waste, solid waste, potable water, air emissions, aboveground storage tanks, and hazardous waste collection to ensure compliance with all federal, state and DOD regulations. You will plan, implement, or monitor environmental programs and services to assure compliance with Federal, State and local regulatory requirements.
You will plan for and conduct analysis of complex environmental programs concerning effectiveness of current work operations/practices for control of environmental programs.
You will perform environmental sampling, coordinates sample analyses, and interprets results.
You will perform inspections and audits and may lead audit teams in evaluating command compliance status. Recommends and implements corrective actions.
You may oversee or conduct the process for application and maintenance of required permits and ensures their currency in accordance with applicable regulations.
