You will serve as a RUBBER WORKER in the PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT, SHOP 31 of PSNS and IMF. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. You will accomplish rubber components manufacture and assembly including injection and compression molding, rubber milling, operation of CNC router/knife cutter, and FME plug cleaning and assembly.
You will fabricate gaskets, covers, seals, O-rings, tubes, washers, sheets, flutes, expansion boots, and plugs.
You will set up, operate, and troubleshoot molding equipment to support manufacture of various rubber and plastic products.
You will use rubber mills, presses, injection mold machines, hot air ovens, autoclaves, CNC routers, band saws, drill presses, sanders, laminators, and various power and hand tools.
You will mix adhesives and epoxies for bonding rubber and plastics to various types of surfaces.
