About the Position: This position is located in a hospital or clinic setting and its purpose is to dispense drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners and to provide information to health practitioners and patients about proper usage of medications. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement for Pharmacist: Degree: Completion of a doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Exemption: You are exempt from the basic requirements above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0660 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27, 2017 or before. Note: You will be required to provide appropriate documentation to the respective Human Resources Office to validate your status. AND License: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, a territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia. AND Medical Requirement: Applicants must be able to distinguish basic colors. AND Specialized Experience: At least one year of professional pharmacy experience which includes dispensing medication, preparing pharmaceuticals, and providing inpatient, outpatient or retail functions such as developing pharmacokinetics and pharmacotherapeutic regimens. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Dispenses, prescribes and/ or administers medicine.
Responsible for evaluation, transcription and interpretation of a physician’s prescription order.
Screen for drug interactions and reviews pertinent laboratory results.
Responsible for the monitoring, detecting, documenting, reporting, and managing of adverse drug events.
Interviews patients to assess for drug allergies and past adverse medication reactions.
Documents pharmaceutical care activities in the medical record
Prepares, compounds, and dispenses pharmaceuticals for patients of all ages,
Ensure proper handling and dispensing of investigational drugs.
