To qualify for 15, candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-14. Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. This position is located under the Office of Professional Responsibility and Security Operations in Washington, District of Columbia. The primary purpose of this position is to function as Chief of Staff for the Directorate with responsibility for supervision, analyzing, developing, and implementing administrative and operational activities impacting Directorate operations. Typical work assignments may include Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates; sets and adjusts short-term priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work; assigns work to subordinates based on priorities. Develops costing models, cost-benefit analyses, and recommendations from a fiscal standpoint regarding adopting or continuing major program initiatives or activities. Uses advanced management and budgeting practices, prepares long and short-range strategic resource analyses, projections and plans for the Directorate. Represents the AD and DAD in meetings with Bureau and Department of Justice (DOJ) officials and with external government (national, state and local) and non-governmental official agencies and organizations. Participates in current and long range planning meetings to ensure that plans are followed to meet objectives, goals and strategic direction.
