You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCE SPECIALIST (MILITARY) in the MILITARY PERSONNEL SERVICES (MFP)of HQ US MARINE CORPS.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: reporting and assisting to identify and certify the payment of survivor benefits and entitlements. You will identify and provide applicable next of kin with the Armed Forces Services Corporation (AFSC) snapshot of death benefits/entitlements within 72 hours of notification to facilitate the selection of the appropriate Survivor Benefits Plan.
You will document and respond to all questions and concerns presented by the family.
You will communicate empathically and compassionately with the next of kin of deceased Marines to facilitate meeting the established goals and objectives of the Long Term Assistance Program (LTAP).
You will analyze, verify and determine eligibility for benefits and entitlements.
You will prepare and distribute 60-day/One-Year letters to the Primary Next of Kin (PNOK) introducing the details of the LTAP and providing the next of kin with contact information.
