Job Description:

You will serve as a EMERGENCY RESPONSE DISPATCHER in the EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT (N37) DEPARTMENT of HDQTRS NDW.
GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Operating electronic computer-based systems for emergency (Police, fire, and or EMS) dispatching management; 2) Working multiple equipment/systems ( e.g., Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system, alarm systems, dispatch recording devices, multi-channel radios) during emergency situations; and 3) Disseminating information from incoming callers during emergency situations. NOTE: All experience must be fully demonstrated in your resume. GS-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Operating radio communication equipment; 2) Receiving incoming telephone or alarm systems calls; and 3) Maintaining logbooks/records. You will answer emergency line phone calls to determine the type of emergency response.
You will perform crisis intervention with distraught emergency callers during high risk situations until appropriate emergency first responders arrive on the scene.
You will use a dispatching software program to verify data is entered as required by the command.
You will monitor the status of dispatched units and assign additional resources as requested to scene of emergency.
