Job Description:

You will serve as a SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the PUBLIC WORKS DIVISION of MARINE CORPS BASE.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: planning, developing, administering, and evaluating a continuous and comprehensive industrial, training, and off-duty mishap prevention program. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will plan, schedule, and perform periodic onsite surveys/inspections of work sites, work processes, protective devices, and equipment for assigned organizations to determine compliance with occupational safety standards.
You will support and assist mishap investigations, reporting, and analyses of related injuries and property damage.
You will prepare, review, and make recommendations on Exercise Safety Letters of Instruction and associated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
You will serve as the Gas Free Engineer (GFE), performing tests and evaluations of confined spaces, tanks, drains, et cetera before allowing personnel to enter or work in confined spaces.
You will provide technical safety training to supervisors, collateral duty safety officers, and other employees using a wide variety of materials, exhibits, protective devices, and visual aids.
