In addition to the experience above, the candidate must demonstrate the following KSAs: Detailed knowledge of complex surgical instruments used in operating rooms and clinic settings. Ability to assemble specialty operating room and clinic instrument sets. In-depth knowledge of sterilization and cleaning equipment. The incumbent cleans and assembles by selecting the correct sterilizing method for a variety of flexible colonoscopes, gastroscopes, and bronchoscopes. Responsible for the initial Standard Operating Procedures in their area of expertise and routinely updates staff of manufacturer instructions. Conforms to and ensures that all safety and infection control rules, regulations and requirements (e.g., dress code and traffic control procedures) in both the decontamination and preparation areas are followed by all personnel working in, or entering, the work area.
