Job Description:
You will serve as a ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the Navy Installations Command, Navy Region Southwest, Department of Navy of NB CORONADO.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Reviewing technical airfield electronic work for compliance with regulations; 2) Troubleshooting and repairing airfield electronic equipment, air traffic control systems, radars, instrument approach systems, navigational aids, and communications systems to solve complex technical problems or improve system performance; 3) Evaluating equipment design to improve or enhance circuit and system operation; 4) Using applicable test equipment, test methods and practices as related to the Air Traffic Control equipment and systems; 5) Troubleshooting and repair of the Enhanced Terminal Voice Switch (ETVS), Digital Audio Legal Recorder (DALR), Flight Data Input/Output (FDIO) systems, Automatic Terminal Information Service (ATIS), AM Transmitters, Receivers and Transceivers, Antenna Systems and their associated transition lines, FM portable and mobile Transceivers (Radios); 6) Must demonstrate expert knowledge of telephone transition lines, copper and fiber optic, and demonstrate the ability to troubleshooting and repair the various types of connection systems and associated hardware and 7) Must be physically willing and able to climb and work on antenna towers using the proper safety protocols and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Additional Information (Continued): Physical Demands: The work is primarily sedentary; however, the technician may be required to do some minor physical activity on an occasional basis. Abnormal noise level may be experienced. Occasional climbing will be required. Work Environment: Work is usually performed in an adequately lighted, clean workshop setting, although there is occasional exposure to conditions in equipment building and outside equipment locations.
You will perform troubleshooting (e.g., system faults, ringing, out wiring, connectors) of electronic equipment for preventative maintenance.
You will maintain modification records for communications systems and associated equipment.
You will train installation team to ensure systems installations meet requirements.
