Joining the Secret Service, Office of Enterprise Resources, Administrative Operations Division will allow you to perform personal and accountable property management in support of all U.S. Secret Service protective, investigative and administrative activities. To be considered qualified for this position you must meet the following qualification requirements for the respective grade level in which you are applying. You qualify for the GS-13 level (starting salary $120,579.00) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level performing duties such as: Planning, organizing, and managing body armor programs for law enforcement or similar agencies. Directing the full lifecycle management of body armor, including initial requisition, signature approval, ordering, receiving, tracking, and distribution to appropriate locations. Managing the procurement and acquisition of body armor supplies and related equipment, ensuring adherence to approved budgets and cost controls. Conducting market research to stay informed of body armor market trends, ensuring the selection of high-quality and cost-effective products. Leading and/or directing the work of a team, including assigning tasks, developing performance standards, and providing training on inventory management processes and measurement methods for body armor issuance. Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet "time-in-grade" requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying). Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to current competitive service employees applying for a Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. NOTE: All current or former Federal employees must provide a copy of their SF-50, "Notice of Personnel Action" that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF-50 must include your position, title, series, grade, step, tenure (1 or 2), and type of service (Competitive or Excepted). You may need to submit more than one SF-50 to comply. The qualification requirements listed above must be met by the closing date of this announcement. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. The selectee will serve as an Inventory Management Specialist in the Office of Enterprise Readiness, Administrative Operations Division. Typical work assignments include: Planning, organizing, coordinating, and managing inventory of Secret Service body armor and related supplies and equipment. Directing events and activities related to body armor inventory and management. Managing and coordinating the accountability of body armor materials throughout the life cycle (i.e., initial requisition, signature approval, ordering, receiving, tracking, and shipping equipment to the appropriate location). Managing the procurement and acquisition of body armor supplies and equipment for the Secret Service. Assisting with and directing subordinate staff to provide resources on appropriate measurement methods to new employees to whom body armor will be issued, and to confirm that these methods are followed.
