Job Description:
Assistant United States Attorneys prosecute all criminal and civil cases brought by the federal government and defend the United States in civil cases. As needed, additional positions may be filled using this announcement for other units in the Criminal or Civil Division. All initial attorney positions to the Department of Justice are made on a 14-month (temporary) basis.
Required qualifications: Applicants must possess a J.D. degree, be an active member of the bar in good standing (in any jurisdiction), and have at least three years post-J.D. legal experience. Preferred qualifications: Five years of experience as a criminal attorney, superior academic credentials, and experience briefing and arguing before federal appellate courts preferred. You must meet all qualification requirements upon the closing date of this announcement.
