Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Facilitating analytical and investigative actions assigned, from an operational, employment and sustainment perspective to support a Special Operations military command. 2) Assisting with the establishment of overall objectives for a Special Operations military command in accordance with changing mission requirements, contingencies, and technical advances. 3) Facilitating operations during crisis situations and operational deployments. 4) Demonstrating knowledge of command-and -control systems for joint military operations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Oral Communication Planning and Evaluating Technical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
Conduct sound analysis of USASOC's mission spectrum and establish requirements and procedures for Commander’s Critical Information Requirements, operations monitoring and reporting, casualty tracking and notification and other incident reporting.
Plan work to be accomplished, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work.
Expert knowledge of service and joint military doctrine supporting the complete spectrum of military operations, including Defense Support to Civil Authorities (DSCA) and Military Assistance in Civil Disasters (MACDIS).
In depth knowledge of command-and-control systems for joint military operations, including Global Command and Control System (GCCS), Strategic Mobility System (SMS), Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN), Automated Message Handling (AMHS).
Monitors, analyzes and evaluates all classified and unclassified message traffic received by USASOC.
