The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: *Climbing up to 980 FT while carrying trade tools. *Maintaining and repairing antenna panels, sea terminals, switch gears, VLF bushings. *Inspecting and repairing guy anchor ground. *Cleaning and coating guy. *Maintaining the transmission line insulating gas system. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will assist in the maintenance and repairs of the VLF antenna network.
You will perform continuous inspections looking for cables out of place, structural damage and electrical arcing.
You will assist with the inspection and the repair of guy anchor ground.
You will assist with the inspection and repairs of 2200 miles of wire grounding system.
You will assist with changing oil in gear boxes, greasing hoist spindles, inspecting hoist drums and changing gear lubricant.
