Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Professional Responsibility, Mission Support Division, Financial Management Group, Location Negotiable After Selection - You must choose one of the following locations: Indianapolis, IN Washington, DC Houston, TX Dallas, TX Los Angeles, CA Seattle, WA
Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Managing projects and day-to-day activities related to financial management, work plans, schedules, budget execution. Collecting, computing, analyzing, and presenting budgetary statistical reports, and reports on program operation. Reviewing and preparing reports and providing appropriate data to key officials to aid in making financial decisions. Developing and maintaining comprehensive budget reports ensuring analysis and interpretation of past, current and future event tracking and financial planning. Providing direct support to staff and team members in all phases of budget with the coordination and correlation of functions related to financial management including accounting, budgeting, reporting, auditing, and fund control system entries. In the Management and Program Analyst (MPA) position, you will be serving as an analyst and/or program advisor to all levels of management on various budget functions and activities requiring application of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for assessing management of financial resources and budget processes, systems and programs. Providing advice to management on organizational changes, as well as analyze trends and patterns recommending business improvement processes. This position starts at a salary of $105,383.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $137,000.00 (GS-13, Step 10) Major duties include: Planning, monitoring, and assisting Directorates executing their budget which includes funds management of invoices, Travel Authorizations and Vouchers, funds realignments, and financial plan tracking and adjustments. Serving as the main Point of Contact (POC) for all budget officer, mission support personnel, and leadership for all funding related inquiries. Overseeing and managing all other financial requirements, such as Invoicing agreements, funding movements in the work bench, reporting, working with other peers in Mission Support Division when there are work efforts that require collaboration and coordination.
