The Screen-out Element for this position is: The Ability to Do the Work of the Position without More than Normal Supervision. Duties performed in this position include preparing items for recycling by bailing, dismantling, packing, or palletizing, AND collecting recyclables in specialized recycling vehicles. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You will ensure a wide variety of recycling materials are identified, classified, segregated, processed, containerized, stored properly, safeguarded, and delivered and/or picked up properly.
You will ensure recycling activities performed are done in compliance with Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA).
You will help enhance the Base's recycling program by implementing resource recovery and reduction, recycling, and waste minimization.
You will keep record of items received, delivered, or shipped out.
You will perform investigations and site visits regularly, and provide technical assistance, guidance, and information to generating activities and units concerning what to turn in for recycling.
