Job Description:

You will serve as a SECURITY GUARD for the CB CEN GULFPORT SEC DET.
In order to qualify for this position, your resume must provide sufficient experience and/or education, knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are being considered. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Authenticating identification for access to restricted areas; 2) Regulating pedestrian and vehicular traffic to maintain traffic flow and security operations; 3) Granting or denying personnel access into restricted areas; and 4) Preforming private and commercial vehicle inspections and package inspections following prescribed procedures to ensure only authorized property is brought into or removed from facilities. You will serve as a member of the entry control/vehicle inspection team which conducts private and commercial vehicle inspections.
You will control access and departures of vehicles and pedestrians in controlled areas to prevent unauthorized access.
You will direct vehicles and pedestrian traffic during periods of emergency or increased traffic.
You will furnish technical direction to an entry control team to properly perform vehicle inspections.
You will inspect private and commercial vehicles to determine if safe to enter installation.
You will assist personnel during an emergency situation (e.g., accidents, drills, fire, natural disasters, motor vehicle or industrial accidents, political demonstrations, hostage or terrorist situations) to protect the safety of life and property.
