This position is located in the Department of Housing and Urban Development, Office of the Chief Administrative Officer.
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. Specialized Experience: For the GS-13 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes: Supporting criminal and administrative investigations involving threats, misconduct, or violations of security policy; AND Participating in protective service operations; AND Liaising with law enforcement partners to share relevant information. Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resume. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-13 you must have been at the GS-12 level for 52 weeks. Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.

As a/an Lead Physical Security Specialist (Law Enforcement), you will: Provide close personal protection to Housing Secretary and Deputy Secretary, which are presidential cabinet-level appointed positions. Participate and/or lead efforts required to plan and perform protective service operations. Establish and maintain effective liaison with local, state, federal, and foreign law enforcement representatives, work closely to acquire or exchange protective intelligence information, update security and movement plans, secure cooperation, assistance and/or additional security resources, vehicle assets, and foreign country clearances for weapons, ammunition, and communication devices, local security, coordinate joint activities, assignments and operations, dignitary and VIP visits to HUD and identify and resolve related problems. Independently conduct and/or participate in protective services related investigations involving threats against the Secretary or Deputy Secretary, whether written, verbal, or implied.
