Job Description:

You will serve as a ELECTRICIAN TRAINING LEADER in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAVFAC NORTHWEST.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the job elements and screen out listed below. This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: 1) Instructing other workers, trainees, and journeymen in the basic theories and practices of the electrician trade; 2) Preparing or obtaining lesson materials and training devices for all training courses; 3) Administering test, quizzes, and/or hands-on mock-up task to determine progress of trainees and; 4) Preforming journeyman electrician level duties in order to maintain qualifications of trade skills. You will develop and conduct training sessions under formal organized training programs designed to progressively improve the student's skills, or upgrade the knowledge and skills of workers.
You will instruct other workers, trainees, and journeymen in the basic theories and practices of the trade.
You will design customized training plans encompassing on-the-job work and classroom sessions to match the knowledge and skills required of the program.
You will perform journeyman electrician level duties in order to maintain qualification of trade skills.
You will revise and adapt daily lesson programs.
You will work with drawings/prints and fabricated electrical cables, boxes and devices.
