Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-02 (or GS-11 equivalency), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector evaluating an explosives safety program to ensure compliance with explosives or ordnance instructions, regulations, or procedures related to ordnance operations, structures, or facilities. (Examples of specialized experience may include: demonstrate expert knowledge of explosives safety policies, regulations, and operational directives; technical expertise in explosives safety compliance for naval installations and ships; a comprehensive understanding of weapon systems; expertise in explosives safety principles, practices, and hazard identification; and proven ability to manage and evaluate explosives safety programs for transportation, handling, training, and compliance at ashore and afloat activities). You will conduct Explosives Safety Inspections (ESIs) at Navy shore activities and Shipboard Explosives Safety Inspections (SESIs) on all classes of ships and submarines.
You will conduct inspections and evaluations of facilities, ranges, ships, and physical security measures to ensure compliance with Department of the Navy (DoN) explosives safety criteria.
You will participate in the NOSSA Job Qualification Requirement training program to develop skills for successful mission execution.
You will provide advice regarding DoN explosives safety criteria during both ashore and afloat ESIs.
You will serve as the technical authority and functional lead for inspections and evaluations of ashore and afloat ESIs.
You will participate in the validation DoN explosives safety inspection criteria for both ashore and afloat activities.
You will present briefs to senior management on ESIs, SESIs, and Explosives Safety Technical Assist Visits.
