About the Position: This position is located at Fort Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing blood banking laboratory tests or examinations and providing inventory equipment maintenance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Four year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major study or at least 24 semester hours in subjects directly related to the position, such as, Microbiology, Chemistry, or Clinical Laboratory Science. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. Perform a wide variety of blood donor collection procedures to include donor registration, medical interviews, vitals, and bag issue.
Prepare collected units/products for storage/shipment, and distributes products as required.
Conduct equipment maintenance, supplies/inventory, standard operating procedures (SOP’S), validations, and process improvements in the section.
Assist in the evaluation, modification, or adaptation of new tests systems or techniques.
Perform preliminary steps for instrument/computer system setup, function verification and operation.
