About the Position: Serves as subject matter expert, point of contact and advisor concerning all forestry management and Agricultural and Grazing lease matters within the region, provides professional expertise and advice in assisting installation foresters, natural resource managers, and other project personnel with agricultural and forestry related management and disposal activities.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes developing, implementing, and coordinating the timber disposal program. Providing professional expertise, consultation, and technical advice in assisting installation foresters, natural resource managers, and other project personnel with forestry related management and disposal activities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 ). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
Serves as the primary action officer for the Timber Disposal and Agricultural and Grazing Program.
Works closely and confers with Resident Forester, Natural Resource Manager, Installation Commander, range officers and other agency representatives in developing and projecting long range plans.
Administers the solicitation and bidding process for the harvesting of timber
Conducts technical reviews of Endangered Species Management Plans and other environmental documents for conflicts with military missions.
Conduct compliance inspections on agricultural and grazing leases to ensure compliance with contract.
Reviews current market conditions and projected conditions for upcoming timber disposals and leasing of agricultural and grazing areas to maximize proceeds for each sale or lease. Coordinates conservation efforts of natural and cultural resources.
Conducts pre-contract conferences to outline contract terms, conditions, and provide explanations.
