Job Description:

You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the Operations Division of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND HAWAII supporting the N4 Facilities Directorate of NAVY CLOSURE TASK FORCE RED HILL, providing technical oversight on construction projects to decommission the RED HILL BULK FUEL STORAGE FACILITY. A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 8.64% will be added to the stated salary.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector 1) providing engineering support services with projects that include new construction, renovation, demolition, environmental remediation, equipment installation, dredging, energy, or any combination of these; 2) ensuring the construction effort stays on schedule and within budget while minimizing adverse impact to base operations; 3) collaborating with construction managers and contractors assuring adherence to contract requirements while advising the supervisor the status of projects. You will develop and apply specific technical expertise in the field of construction, obtained through education and experience in one or more areas which include: mechanical systems, electrical systems, fire protection systems, etc.
You will support the management and administration of complex and challenging construction projects in various geographic locations in support of the Navy, Marine Corps and other agency clients with critical, time-sensitive missions and functions.
You will keep supervisor advised the status of projects under their administrative and technical control but independently plan and carry out assigned tasks.
You will take appropriate timely action to ensure contractor compliance of safety and health requirements.
You will facilitate effective relationships and processes between contractors, Supported Command, and government team members.
