The primary purpose of the position is to ensure supplies and materials are distributed to all areas serviced by Logistics. Leads three or more GS-2005 employees in the distribution area to provide wards, clinics, operating rooms, secondary storage locations, and other hospital facilities with supplies and material including, but not limited to, sterile and non-sterile medical supplies, instruments sets, and equipment.
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/17/2025. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to...distributing supplies and materials, including sterile and non-sterile medical supplies, instrument sets and equipment, to all areas of the facility; scanning, bar-coding, receiving, storing and distribution of supplies and materials; assists in training new employees; maintains current knowledge and answers questions on procedures, policies, etc.; maintains stock by pulling stock, replenishing stock, and maintaining records on stock levels; monitors expiration dates and rotates stock; cleans assigned areas in accordance with aseptic principles; and receives supplies and material into the facility . Duties include but are not limited to: Distributes and balances the workload among employees in accordance with established workflow or job specialization and assures timely accomplishment of assigned workload. Leads three (3) or more Supply Technicians in the distribution area of Logistics. Monitors status and progress of work, makes day-to-day adjustments in accordance with established priorities. Obtains assistance from the supervisor on problems that may arise, such as backlogs which cannot be disposed of promptly. Estimates and reports on expected time of completion of work. Instructs employees in specific tasks and job techniques and make available written instructions, reference materials and supplies. Gives on the job training to new employees in accordance with established procedures and practices. Maintains current knowledge and answers questions of other employees on procedures, policies, directives, or other guidelines as necessary and obtains needed information or decisions from supervisor on problems that come up. Checks on work in progress or spot checks work not requiring review. Reviews completed work to see that supervisor instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods and deadlines have been met. Monitors working conditions. Resolves simple, informal complaints of employees and refers others to supervisor.
