You will serve as a PRODUCTION MACHINERY MECHANIC TRAINING LEADER in the Production Department of PSNS and IMF. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.

You will develop, prepare and conduct formal training in classroom and shop demonstrations for apprentices and trade journeymen in the basic and advanced knowledge to accomplish work.
You will prepare daily plans, instructional material, and training aids such as handouts, video tapes, slides to teach theories of the trade and related drawing requirements.
You will analyze and define academic classes such as: Math, Science, English, Mechanical Drawing, Descriptive Geometry, and Industrial Organization, to meet requirements of the trade
You will offer counseling and guidance for those that have fallen behind in level of proficiency and strive to improve performance in the training course.
You will coordinate the work and experience training in the shop and/or aboard ship.
