Specialized experience is defined as serving as an expert systems developer and architect for the full lifecycle of software systems using a wide range of technologies (mainframe, client-server, web, cloud); designs, develops, maintains, and troubleshoots systems; ensures compliance with relevant standards and incorporates emerging technologies; addresses problem reports and contributes to overall system architecture. Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement. Development, evaluation, planning, scheduling and implementation of new or modified hardware, operating systems and applications software.
Maintaining overall IT systems integrity by ensuring operating systems and application software are properly installed and configured in compliance with Federal laws and Department of Defense (DoD) regulations and policies.
Management of IT systems resources to include availability, capacity, performance, serviceability, and recoverability.
Resolution of hardware/software interface and interoperability problems.
Responsible for the development, analysis, presentation of plans and integration of new IT capabilities and technology into the existing enterprise architecture.
Identifies and resolves highly complex IT challenges that cross organizational boundaries and promulgates solutions.
Makes recommendations to achieve a sound IT strategy which is fully integrated within DoD IT strategy.
