Job Description:

Support the Military's Quality of Life programs! The Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department of Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC) provides fitness, recreation, lodging and food and beverage programs for service members, their families, retired military and civilian employees. This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) Food and Beverage; Fleet Readiness; Commander, Navy Installations command (CNIC); NBK Bremerton - All-American Restaurant.
Knowledge of cash handling procedures. Knowledge of basic arithmetic to compute charges, disperse change accurately, and prepare reports. Knowledge of MWR policies, rules, and regulations related to the assigned work area. Skill in providing excellent customer service obtained through prior experience and training. Ability to operate a point of sales system or cash register. Ability to competently and independently carry out day-to-day operations. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Uses Point of Sales (POS) to collect fees from customers associated with sales. Rings sales and/or ticket sales by individual items, totals the sales, receives money, and makes change. Is responsible for turning in receipts at the end of each shift. Follows procedures for safeguarding cash. Ensures that an adequate change fund is on hand; may take food and drink orders from patrons. Greets guests and directs them to tables. When applicable, alerts the server that the table has been seated in their station. Reserves tables for guests as appropriate. Assists in setting up for parties and catered events. Answers patron's questions in a pleasant, courteous manner. Ensures the proper preparation, display and price marking of items and adherence to correct receipt and pricing procedures. Performs some housekeeping duties as needed, including washing dishes, sweeping floors, wiping down tables and taking out trash. Assists with the coordination, operation, and maintenance of the facility during his/her shift. Handles phone inquiries. Performs other related duties as assigned.
