Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of DP-03 experience at or equivalent to the GS-9-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Study polymer matrix composites and various neat polymer materials; including but not limited to thermoplastics, BMI, thermoset materials. Study related engineering principles; design; strength & fatigue; manufacturing & quality; technical data; safety; configuration management; the DoD acquisition process; fleet and field activity organizations and their interrelationships. - General understanding of concepts, principles, and practices of systems engineering, system life-cycle phases, and the documentation, analyses, and reviews associated with those phases. - General understanding of failure analysis in composite and polymeric materials; including test, imagery and documentation. - Capable of working effectively with all levels of management and peers. This requires leadership characteristics as well as tact and ability to exercise judgment in sensitive situations and personal relationships. - Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to create oral presentations and author written reports and other documentation as required. - Work with fleet activities, other SYSCOMs and industry partners to ensure operational material requirements are understood and applied to emergent material/manufacturing processes - Provide analysis and responses during the development and review of program Contractor Data Requirements Lists and Statements of Work. You will perform studies the mechanical and physical properties of nonmetallic materials employed in advanced aircraft, missiles, weapons, and engineering test equipment.
You will deliver optimized technical solutions that are balanced to achieve required technical performance within cost, schedule and technology constraints.
You will perform specialized testing or in conducting failure analyses of materials and frequently provide advice and assistance to design engineers.
You will perform studies of the behavior of nonmetallic materials in design applications during processing and under environmental conditions.
