In addition to the basic education requirement, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NH-03 (GS-13 Equivalent), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a professional engineer providing engineering guidance for the design, testing, or development of ordnance, munitions, or weapon systems to ensure compliance with established requirements or specifications. You will serve as a member of the Energetics Evaluation Branch and is responsible for coordinating programs and projects.
You will serve as the Program Manager and Subject Matter Expert for Hazard Classification in the formulation and implementation of conventional explosives safety regulations, criteria, and policies for ordnance as they are stored and transported.
You will provide technical direction and advice with respect to work processes, content, issues or problems pertaining to the Hazard Classification Energetics Evaluations programs.
You will attend, chair, and participate in various meetings concerning technical and engineering proposals, programmatic plans and actions that involve nationwide or DoD-wide technical experts in a variety of fields.
You will oversee generic research and development efforts to design, test, and transition appropriate technical projects relating to safe energetic solutions or transportation, storage, and handling of energetics and weapon systems.
You will serve as the NAVSEASYSCOM Safety Representative to the Configuration Control Board for the use and control of high explosives and high explosives loading of Navy non-nuclear munitions.
You will review test data and recommends interim hazard classification for ammunition items and explosives substances to permit safe transportation and storage.
You will prepare data and control records for submission into the Joint Hazard Classification System, the database contains hazard classification and safety data for explosives items, ammunition and ammunition related items of the DoD components.
You will provide briefings and presentations throughout the Navy and defense establishment concerning Hazard Classification program goals, budgets, financial plans, logistic efforts, and technical evaluations.
You will review and/or prepare final hazard classification packages for forwarding to the Defense Department Explosives Safety Board.
You will serve as advisor for N85 during Weapon System Explosives Safety Review Board (WSESRB) meetings and represent the Navy on various international working groups and committees.
