This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted Position for an ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN, Position Description Number D1878000 and is a part of the 245th CAOS, South Carolina Air National Guard.
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION OPEN TO AREAS OF CONSIDERATION (AOC) 1 ONLY. AOC DEFINITIONS: Area 1: Current permanent employees of the South Carolina Air National Guard. (Note-Temporary and Indefinite employees do not meet permanent tenure requirements and will not qualify for this AOC) Area 2: Current members of the South Carolina Air National Guard. Area 3: Any individual eligible for membership in the South Carolina Air National Guard. Min/Max Military Grades: SrA/E-4 - MSgt/E-7 MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training performing simple mechanical installations and adjustments. Experience which demonstrates the applicant's ability to recognize obvious malfunctions. Experience using common hand tools. Experience that demonstrates the ability to follow written instructions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To be rated qualified for this position your resume must show definitively at least 36 months experience in the following- experience, education or training in utilizing principles, basic functions and application of theory of electronic systems or equipment. Experience in diagnosing problems and determining needed repairs for malfunctions in electronic equipment or systems. Experience in making mechanical repairs that required the use of precision measuring and calibrating equipment. Experience in using complex test equipment such as deviation meters, complex special test panels, etc. Experience which demonstrates the ability to interpret technical manuals, specifications, and publications.
This position is located at an Air National Guard (ANG) Aviation Wing, Air Traffic Control (ATC) Squadron, Airfield Systems Flight. The purpose of the position is to provide technical expertise to maintain and certify Air traffic Control and Landing Systems (ATCALS). This includes performing investigation, analysis, diagnosis, testing, tuning, correction, optimization, alignment, and verification/certification to ensure continuous and reliable operation of air traffic control and landing and communication systems.
