Organizational Location: These positions are located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO), in multiple locations specified in this announcement. Note: The duty location extended at the final job offer will be based on the needs of the agency, availability of positions, and funding.
You must demonstrate you meet the Minimum Qualifications Requirements and the Typing Requirement as noted below. Minimum Qualifications for GS-07 Specialized Experience: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level in the Federal service that included experience such as: Providing clerical and administrative support to a law enforcement program including preparing travel documents and making travel arrangements for domestic and/or international travel. Establishing, tracking, and/or maintaining legal case files. Preparing legal documents, including warrants and records of proceedings. Reviewing bond cases to determine status and identify next course of action (e.g., to continue, cancel, or breach) for supervisory review. Minimum Qualifications for GS-08 Specialized Experience: You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service that included experience such as: Maintaining and reviewing docket files. Collecting and analyzing data from law enforcement databases. Researching detainee history using multiple sources to establish identity and citizenship. Coordinating escorts and transportation associated with deportation or removal activities. Reviewing bond cases to determine status and taking appropriate action to continue, cancel, or breach. Typing Requirement In addition to meeting the minimum qualification requirements, you must show possession of the ability to type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample, with three or fewer errors. You may self-certify your proficiency in the Occupational Questionnaire. All qualification requirements must be met by the cutoff dates listed under additional information. As an Enforcement and Removal Assistant (OA), at the full performance level you will perform a variety of duties, such as: Researching detainee history using multiple sources to establish identity/citizenship and manage detained and non-detained dockets. Providing administrative support to managers, supervisors, or staff members by assisting in the day-to-day management of the office's activities. Summarizing and tabulating detainee information from various reports and utilizing a variety of databases and automated systems. Generating and verifying detainee reports, encounters, charging documents, studies, data quality and create and revise spreadsheets charts, graphs, and presentations. Exercising quality control over bond paperwork.
