IOWA AIR NATIONAL GUARD - TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION This position is open to current military members of the 132d Wing, Des Moines, Iowa Air National Guard LOCATION: 132d Wing, Des Moines, Iowa

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks. OR; Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate. GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent): For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. THE SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS BELOW MUST BE MET. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: GS-2210-13: Must have at least 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level. Experience, education, or training that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the -organizational unit and development of project controls. Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment. Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
As a SUPV IT SPEC (INFOSEC), GS-2210-13 your duties are below; The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative control and technical supervision over personnel responsible for performing administrative/technical duties in information protection, intrusion analysis, transmission, storage and information processing methodology, computer capabilities, and various computer operating systems. 1. Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the CNO Flight. Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and CNO objectives. Plans work for accomplishment by subordinate teams, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules based on consideration of difficulty of requirements and assignments to ensure the experience, training, and abilities of the staff are effectively utilized to meet organization and customer needs. Provides subordinate supervisors with direction and advice regarding policies, procedures, and guidelines. Reviews work and management techniques of subordinate supervisors. Makes decisions on work problems presented by subordinate supervisors. 2. Selects candidates for subordinate non-supervisory and supervisory positions taking into consideration skills and qualifications, mission requirements, and EEO objectives. Ensures equity of performance standards among teams. Reviews rating techniques of subordinate supervisors. Explains performance expectations to subordinate supervisors and provides regular feedback on strengths and weaknesses. Appraises performance of subordinate supervisors and serves as reviewing official on evaluation of non-supervisory employees rated by subordinate supervisors. Hears and resolves group grievances and employee complaints referred by subordinate supervisors and employees. Encourages self-development. Approves leave for subordinate supervisors and ensures adequate coverage in organization through peak workloads and traditional holiday vacation time. Demonstrates sensitivity to ideas of subordinates. Ensures actions taken directly as well as those by subordinate supervisors promote an environment in which employees are empowered to participate in and contribute to effective mission accomplishment. 3. Coordinates with representatives of other Flight Commanders and the Squadron Commander in the oversight of operational events, exercises, assessments and projects. Oversees management of CNO assessment equipment and tools. 4. Ensures CNO members are current in required training and certifications to maintain mission readiness. 5.
