Job Description:

This position is part of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency. The incumbent will be responsible for executing and coordinating a variety of military personnel strength management programs; advising on and processing of selections for assignment, military promotions, military awards (Joint), personnel action requests, extensions, position management, and personnel requisitions.
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Executing and coordinating a variety of military personnel strength management programs; advising on and processing of selections for assignment, military promotions, military awards (Joint), personnel action requests, extensions, position management, and personnel requisitions Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
As a HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (MILITARY) at the GS-0201-13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Directs the execution and coordination of a variety of military personnel strength management programs. Manages programs for the DSCS, SCO-Global military service members is the following areas such as selections for assignment, military promotions, personnel action requests, extensions, position management, personnel requisitions, and services' HR Information Systems. Serves as advisor and expert over all facets of military awards (Joint), personnel assignments, transfers, promotions, separations, policies, procedures, interpretation on laws, regulations, policies and procedures, and develop agency policies and procedural guidance. Serves as the Military HR team member on special projects or comprehensive studies to identify and examine problems or operating issues that may impact our military members within the Security Cooperation Organization-Global.
