Job Description:

You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST in the Maritime Information Warfare Directorate and is assigned to the Special Security Office of OPERATIONAL SUPPORT FACILITY. The Secretary of Defense has ordered a department-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the DoD hiring freeze. Offers of employment related to this vacancy announcement will not be executed until the position has an approved exemption.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: applying security concepts, principles, and practices to manage (analyze, plan, implement, administer, monitor) Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security programs (e.g., clearance adjudications, risk assessments, access control). Must also have expertise with security systems such as: Defense Information Security System (DISS), SCIF Access Control Systems, intelligence databases (e.g., Scattered Castles, JWICS). You will be responsible for SCI Personnel Security program management and SCI Personnel Security eligibility and investigations for SCI security clearances and access to sensitive positions.
You will be responsible for adjudications, risk-based clearance decisions, and access control, exercising delegated authority to approve, deny, suspend, or revoke SCI clearances in compliance with policy and regulations.
You will enforce strict SCI access controls and enabling trusted security partnerships that include individuals internationally, across the agency, and outside of the agency.
You will compile, analyze and evaluate data pertaining to the command's needs and make recommendations concerning acquisition of new equipment or changes in operations to accommodate physical security objectives.
You will coordinate and oversees access control system preventative maintenance checks performed by support organizations.
