THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST, Position Description Number T6002300 and is part of the 224 ADG, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year equivalent to at least next lower grade level. Specialized experience includes experience, education and training that provided knowledge of communications equipment, systems, services, and transmission media; knowledge of electronic communications concepts, principles, practices, procedures, policies, standards, and operational requirements; application of specialized communications methods and analytical techniques; technical knowledge of the operational and performance characteristics of communications equipment, automated control and network management systems, transmission media, and the relationships among component parts of telecommunications systems; and competencies in the subject matter or business processes associated with the DoD, U.S. Army, or U.S. Air Force telecommunication programs. As a TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST, GS-0391-12, you will manage the Joint National Airspace System Defense Planning Group (JNDPG) programs and be the principal point of contact for all related joint-use issues for the Northeast Air Defense Sector (NEADS). Serves as the primary coordinator providing policy, management, and technical advice and assistance concerning operations, maintenance, and technical issues with five Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Regions and various other Federal, State and local agencies.
