To qualify for 13, candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-12. Additional Conditions of Employment: GS-13 - You qualify if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal, State, or Local government or equivalent public or private sector experience, performing the following duties: Applies comprehensive knowledge of Federal Investigative Standards to obtain all components of personnel vetting scenario based on position sensitivity; AND Conducts pre-employment screening and determines interim clearance or temporary eligibility access; AND Disseminates procedures through written documentation, verbal instruction and/or training sessions; AND Conducts quality control assessments. Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level. This position is located under the Office of Professional Responsibility and Security Operations, Personnel Security Division, Investigations Branch in Washington, District of Columbia. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as Lead Personnel Security Specialist and provide subject matter expert guidance for the Investigations Branch operational activities. As a Lead Personnel Security Specialist (Investigator), GS-0080-13, your typical work assignments may include: Serves as the primary liaison between the Branch Chief and the Investigations Branch (IB) Personnel Security Specialists, Leads a team with Top Secret (TS) Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearances responsible for work with information in classified systems. Makes appropriate decisions relating to preemployment screening, interim clearance or temporary eligibility determinations, and investigation requirements. Applies knowledge of Federal requirements to recommend actions on personnel security matters and cases that involve issues requiring resolution of difficult material. Reports findings to Branch Chief from conducted analytical studies.
