About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to Outdoor Recreation on Nellis AFB, NV. Regular Full-time employees are guaranteed 35 Hours per week but may work up to 40 Hours per week. This position does offer benefits. Required to lift and carry heavy equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and handles heavier objects. Works indoor and outdoors during all weather conditions. Must upload valid Driver's License.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have a minimum of two years experience in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of recreational equipment. This experience must have provided a thorough knowledge of and ability to test and troubleshoot components and systems to locate equipment defects; interpret and apply manufacturer's repair manuals and technical specifications, schematics, diagnostic codes, and safety manuals; operate electronic test equipment. Must be able to frequently stand, bend, stoop, crawl, and work in tight spaces for long periods of time.
Ensure material, parts, and tools are available to accomplish the tasks. Checks work in progress and when finished for compliance with procedures, methods and specifications according to manufacturer's technical specifications. Answer workers' questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions, and other technical orders. Provide information to supervisor on status and progress of work, causes of delays, and overall work operations and problems. Assures that safety and housekeeping rules are followed (e.g., assures that machine capacities are not exceeded and that tools are properly used). Repairs and maintains a variety of gasoline/diesel powered equipment such as boats, campers, canoes, inboard/outboard motors, tractors, garden tillers, lawnmowers, bicycles, utility trailers, etc. Identifies maintenance problems through periodic checks or when equipment is brough in for repair or service. Performs such repairs as changing fuel and oil filters, making adjustments, hydraulic repairs, replacing belts, and hoses, oil and grease seals and gaskets, and overhauling/repairing electrical/mechanical/hydraulic systems. Repairs may also involve some welding. Maintain records of inventory and repairs performed. Use a variety of test equipment such as equipment analyzers, electric chargers, compression testers, micrometers, and electric circuit testers. Also uses such tools as welders, drill presses, pneumatic riveting tools, grinders, lathers, sanders, drill saw, saber saw, tacks, ring compressors, spring valve compressors, air drills, etc. Establishes preventive maintenance scheduling for all recreational equipment. Researches technical publications and recommends new equipment to be purchased by the facility. Maintains a complete library on maintenance and repair manuals. Wait on customers, by checking identification, issuing equipment, assisting and providing information at time of issue on proper care, use, and responsibility of equipment. At time of returns, inspect equipment for cleanliness, damages and proper operation. Receives and attempts to resolve customer complaints referring unresolved complaints to the Outdoor Recreation Manager.
