This National Guard position is for a SUPV IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1748000 and is part of the151 ISR located in SLC, UT with the Utah Air National Guard. This vacancy is opened to the public. The selecting supervisor for this vacancy is Maj Jacob D. Scheid. This vacancy is OPEN to current members of the National Guard, and members of the public willing to join the Utah Air National Guard.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1 year specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-2210-11 (must submit SF 50 to validate response. OR Have experience that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls. Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment. Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion. SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
Major Duties: This is not an all-inclusive list As a SUPV IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) (TITLE 32), GS-2210-12, you will: Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of a CNO Team, ensuring the team complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates. Sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules. Assigns work to subordinate employees based on organization priorities and consideration of difficulty and requirements of assignments such that the experience, training, and abilities of the team are effectively utilized to meet organization and customer needs. Balances workload and provides advice, guidance, and direction to subordinate team members. Demonstrate sensitivity to ideas of subordinates. Promotes an environment in which employees are empowered to participate in and contribute to effective mission accomplishment. Recognizes and takes action to correct situations posing a threat to the health or safety of subordinates. Meets with key customer and coordinating officials to assess customer satisfaction, explain organization policy and procedures, and resolve problems. Functions as liaison between CNO team performing assessment and officials of organization being assessed. Responsible for the supervision of team technicians during vulnerability assessments to ensure member activities stay within guidelines established for the mission. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. Selects or recommends selection of candidates for vacancies, promotions, details, and reassignments in consideration of skills and qualifications, mission requirements, and EEO and diversity objectives. Develops, modifies, and/or interprets performance standards. Explains performance expectations to employees and provides regular feedback on strengths and weaknesses. Holds employees responsible for satisfactory completion of work assignments. Appraises subordinate workers performance ensuring consistency and equity in rating techniques. Hears and resolves employee complaints and refers serious unresolved complaints to higher level management. Effects minor disciplinary measures such as warnings and reprimands and recommends action in more serious disciplinary matters. Prepares documentation to support actions taken. Identifies employee developmental needs and provides or arranges for training to maintain and improve job performance. Approves master leave schedule assuring adequate coverage for peak workloads and traditional holiday vacation time. Performs other duties as assigned.
