Must have one year experience in fitness, health, sports or group exercise. A degree from an accredited college/university in a related field may be substituted for experience. Must have a valid driver¿s license. Must be certified in CPR within three months of employment. The incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently. Must have excellent customer service skills to successfully communicate policies, programs, and products. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook (email), Windows, and navigating the web. Applicants must be able to maintain effective working relations with all levels of employees, both inside and outside of the organization.
The purpose of this position is to provide necessary services to authorized patrons, including general information on equipment and facilities, assist with administrative duties, cash register operations, and custodial duties. This position reports to the fitness center manager or assistant fitness center manager. Assist the management in the overall operation and control of the fitness center. This will include helping with set-up, break-down or administration of strength and conditioning programs, Human Performance, fitness programming, group exercise programs, property equipment control, managing cleaning supplies, special events and day-to-day operations of the facility. Will be responsible for the opening and/or closing of the facility. Assist management in the upkeep and maintenance of equipment registered on Consolidated Memorandum Receipts, and will make regular and detailed checks for sanitation, cleanliness and safety of all areas. Assist in the proper training of staff on all aspects of the facilities. Responsible for gear issue and receipt of gear check-in. Deals with patrons to resolve complaints and grievances. Helps administratively with the planning and scheduling of staff work assignments to accommodate weekends, evenings and holidays. This position requires flexibility for working all shifts. Facility is open 24/7 and includes the operation of unmanned hours. Constantly provides World Class Customer service with an emphasis on courtesy. Acknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye conduct. Asks questions to determine, verify, and solve problems. Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Supports all Warrior Athlete Readiness and Resilience (WARR) programming and services and Marine Corps Total Fitness (MCTF) strategy. Performs other duties as assigned. FINANCIAL DUTIES: May operate a cash register, receive payments and make change. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Must support other programs within Semper Fit when called upon such as the Hard Corps Race Series, Single Marine Program (SMP), Athletics, etc. Maintain confidentially when collecting Personally Identifiable Information (PII), HIPPA, and open lines of communication. Incumbent is required to obtain CPR within the first three months of employment. Must possess a valid driver¿s license. WORKING CONDITIONS: Applicants must be able to work early mornings, nights, holidays, and weekends. This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance. Requires extended periods of standing and walking on tile floors. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Uses required safety equipment, and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.
