Other Duties/ Responsibilities Required to be available at all times for sudden recall in response to emergency events affecting the Senate campus/community and deployment to alternate locations for up to 30 days, as necessary. Required Work Experience 8 - 10 years of experience in security, emergency management and/ or continuity. Required Special Skills/ Knowledge As part of our hiring process, we may conduct a skills assessment to better understand an applicant’s proficiency in key areas relevant to the role. Contracting Officer Representative Level I/II. Knowledge of principles, theories, methods, and practices of project management including budgeting, scheduling, staffing, risk management, and requirements analysis. Knowledge of budgeting and financial management principles, practices, and procedures. Ability to develop and implement both short- and long-range project plans. Ability to lead teams and to bring projects to completion on time and within budget. Ability to conduct research and prepare analytic reports. Ability to analyze complex issues and make recommendations for action. Ability to develop effective working relationships with Senate staff and external stakeholders. Ability to communicate effectively. Desired Qualifications Experience working on Capitol Hill. Experience with physical security assessments, identifying vulnerabilities and executing mitigations to reduce risk. Previous physical security training and/or certifications. Previous program and/or project management experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.). Self-motivated with effective problem-solving skills and high attention to detail. Strong customer service skills. Working Conditions Since this position requires onsite presence in support of the U.S. Senate when in session, this position requires the employee to be available and prepared to work during government shutdowns, in inclement weather, on holidays, and during late night, overnight, and weekend sessions. In the context of government furloughs, this position is considered excepted. This position directly supports essential services of the U.S. Senate. As such, this position requires the employee be available and prepared to work during government shutdowns, in inclement weather, on holidays, weekends, and during late nights to ensure essential services to the Senate continue without interruption. Security Clearance This position requires that the applicant obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Government security clearance. Applicants must be U.S. citizens in order for the SAA to submit your application for a security clearance.
Applies expert understanding of program management practices and principles. Acts as the lead point of contact or subject matter expert for managing broad programs and associated projects. Effectively utilizes program management tools to initiate, monitor, and present progress to a wide audience. Leads staff in execution of the program. Coordinates with stakeholders and other relevant entities. Provides customer-focused care to effectively engage with the Senate community. Other duties as assigned.
