This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing pre-hospital emergency medical services care at the paramedic level to injured and/or ill patients; 2) Maintaining appropriate reports, forms and documents utilizing medical charting and medical terminology; and 3) Driving and operating an ambulance. NOTE: *** Entry-level parenthetical medical firefighters (Paramedic) levels must successfully complete any and all required training, to include being DoD certified at the Firefighter I and II levels and Airport Firefighter level, if applicable within a maximum of 24 months. You will provide advanced life support.
You will administer medications and solutions orally or intravenously under the direction of standing orders or of an off-site physician.
You will interpret an electrocardiogram (EKG) for a patient with an unstable heartbeat to determine future medical treatment.
You will provide invasive airway procedures (e.g., needle or surgical cricothyrotomy, pleural decompression, endotracheal intubation, nasal intubation).
You will enter confined spaces to perform patient care, rescue and recovery.
You will extract a trapped patient to prevent further harm during removal.
You will maintain proficiency in search and rescue techniques (e.g., auto extraction, high or low angle rescue, confined space rescue, building collapse).
