This temporary position is located in the Gettysburg National Military Park's Maintenance Division. This position is located in a National Park Service Unit. This position is a working leader assigned responsibility for building and utility maintenance work. The position provides daily direction to at least 3 employees. The highest level of work led is at the WG-7 level.
To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprints reading) Ability To Lead Or Supervise Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation Repair, etc. Knowledge of materials Technical Practices (theoretical precise, artistic) Use of Measuring Instruments SCREEN OUT: Possesses the ability to lead or supervise, performing the full range of duties of a Maintenance Worker Leader, WL-4749-07 AND possesses knowledge and experience to demonstrate the ability to independently lead a crew to completion of a variety of landscape preservation tasks that include: experience demonstrating my ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate materials and manpower, prepare work orders and reports, train others on maintenance work in at least two of the follow trades (carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, cement finishing or masonry), explain work manuals and procedures, and motivate others to work efficiently and productively. Receives, generates, and executes work orders, estimates, project statements, and cyclic maintenance activities related to monument preservation and repair Cleans stone and bronze monuments, plaques, etc by power washing and or walnut shell blasting. Operates hydraulic man-lift, engine driven pressure washing equipment, and motor vehicles up to 1 ton, and pulls trailers not to exceed 3000 pounds Uses hand tools to assist journeymen in mortar removal and re-pointing
