Job Description:

You will serve as an Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Manager and special staff advisor to the Commanding Officer and command staff. You will plan, organize, administer, evaluate, and coordinate a comprehensive command safety program. This position is located at NAVY INFORMATION OPERATIONS CMD HAWAII, N4 Directorate (Facilities, Logistics, and Safety), on Joint Base Pearl-Harbor Hickam (JBPHH) Wahiawa Annex, in Kunia, Honolulu, Hawaii.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assist with the development and implementation of occupational health policies and establishment of safety plans and procedures; Inspect all areas under organization purview for conformity to safety rules, standards, and regulations; Identify, document, and recommend corrective actions to address hazardous and undesirable operating conditions throughout the command area of responsibility (AOR); Investigate and analyze materiel damage and personal injury accidents in accordance with policies, practices, and procedures. You will oversee organization personnel and government contractors for safety.
You will advise leadership and supervisors in work hazard analysis, protective devices, environmental issues, system safety regulations, indoor air quality, industrial hygiene, occupational health, and technical and administrative safety matters.
You will develop and implement policies and establish safety plans and procedures.
You will coordinate safety activities with related operations including vision and hearing conservation programs, blood-borne pathogens exposure control plans, respiratory protection, and fire protection.
You will promote and enforce various safety program elements such as training compliance, transportation safety, and electrical safety.
