Job Description:

This position is located within the National Mall and Memorial Parks in Washington, D.C. The primary purpose of the position is to service all plumbing systems within the park. Open to the first 30 applicants or until 12/08/2025 whichever comes first. All applications submitted by 11:59 (EST) on the closing day will receive consideration.
Requirements Continued... You will be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties; a valid driver's license is required. You will be required to submit a Motor Vehicle Operator's License and Driving Record. You must also submit (within a State sealed envelope or submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that disclose all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you. QUALIFICATIONS To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision. (SCREEN OUT) Troubleshooting Technical Practices Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc. Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications,etc, (includes blueprint reading). Ability to Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Use of Measuring Instruments Condition of Employment (SCREEN OUT): At the time of appointment, the incumbent of this position must possess and be able to maintain a valid State or District of Columbia driver's license. If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT factor above is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration. The major duties of the Plumber position include, but are not limited to, the following: Performs preventive maintenance to all plumbing and mechanical equipment and parts. Installs, modifies, and repairs plumbing fixtures (bathtubs, showers, toilets, sinks, water fountains, and their associated hardware. Cleans gravity type sewage drain lines, repairs or replaces potable water lines, and makes connections Installs and makes repairs to sewer drain systems (these include septic tanks, drain fields, sewage lift pumps, and related piping Installs, repairs, and performs preventive maintenance to heating and cooling systems Packs valve stems, services check valves, flanges, altitude valves, gauges, and all pumping equipment used in water systems.
