This vacancy is for a WS - 4607-9,Carpenter Supervisor located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, CG ACADEMY PUBLIC WORKS SECTION in NEW LONDON, Connecticut.

You will serve as a/an Carpenter Supervisor and be responsible for providing technical and administrative supervision for carpenters, painters, and a locksmith for work accomplished primarily in connection with the maintenance, repair and improvement of Academy facilities and roads and the support of Academy special events. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Planning the use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials. Establishing deadlines, priorities, and work sequences. Assigning work to individuals and providing technical direction and/or help in accomplishing difficult work steps and processes. Performing administration responsibilities such as developing performance plans, evaluating employee performance, rewarding employees, and taking corrective action as needed.
