Job Description:
This position is part of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency. The incumbent will be responsible for assisting and coordinating programs policies, processes, and procedures related to Security Cooperation (SC) Programs.
You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Formulate or assist with policy regarding weapons systems sales; Interpreting and applying national security and arms transfer policy guidelines in the context of technology transfer concerns and overall policy objectives; Planning, scheduling, organizing tasks, and conducting all phases of projects relating to weapons policy. You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service: Developing, coordinating and representing policies in the area of weapon systems or defense related programs; interpreting and applying national security and arms transfer policy guidelines in the context of technology transfer concerns and overall national policy objectives: formulating appropriate policy recommendations and procedural recommendations related to technology transfers and weapons sales in support of policy objectives in support of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) or other Defense related programs; Applying technological knowledge in these areas of focus (including, but not limited to) Command and Control (C2), Electronic Warfare, Cyber, and/or Space systems. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
As a WEAPONS SYSTEMS POLICY ANALYST at the GS-0301-13/14 some of your typical work assignments may include: Service acquisition and or program management experience highly desired. Serves as a subject matter expert with responsibility for developing, coordinating, and representing DoW in foreign military sales. Interprets and applies national security and arms transfer guidelines in the context of technology transfer concerns and overall national policy objectives. Formulates appropriate policy recommendations and procedural recommendations related to technology transfers and weapons sales in support of policy objectives in support of FMS. Serves as interlocutor between international engagement and acquisition elements across the Department. Individual could be assigned to one of the following programs: The Air Force International Program; Navy International Program; Army International Program; C5I/EW.
